April | | | | | April Showers...Hello April! What happened to March and how did that month go by so quickly? It could be because there is so much going on! Not going to lie, 2025 has been off to a rocky start and the main thing getting me through it is a positive attitude. I also have been using what I learned from reading The Let Them Theory by Mel Robinson. I have had an issue with a person who I considered to be one of my best friends. I have had to work through the issues of losing this friend, I have essentially been grieving the friendship. I also lost my most favorite aunt and it has been difficult processing all of this loss. Not to mention that we have had the slowest months of sales at the store. On the other hand, there are some super exciting things happening too! This is what I tend to focus on and I tell myself all of the time to focus on the now not the how. Just as the storm always passes, this will pass too. What defines who you are is how you react to these situations. Mourn the loss, weather the storm, the sun always finds a way to shine even in the darkest moments. | membership benefitsWhat you get when you sign up for a membership: Monthly meetings that are fun and educational First to know for retreats and activities Monthly book club Lifestyle workshops Monthly newsletter Membership spotlight Priority and discounted events 15% monthly discount at Swank Boutique dayNetworking New friends! | | | Book ClubThis has been one of the best books that I have read and I have learned so much! If you have not had a chance to read this yet, I highly recommend it! | | | April GoalHere's where the honesty of this newsletter comes into play...I was strong on my goal for January (decreasing my screen time) however, I completely flopped on my February goal. And we all know that I completely dropped the ball for March! So lets revamp these goals! My screen time has slowly been creeping up to 5 hours per day. THIS HAS TO STOP!! I need to get back down to 3 hours a day. Let's get those app timers set back up and quit wasting so much time on my phone. I have too many other things that need to be done! Goal number two for the month of April...remember that NOKbox I bought so I could get my personal affairs in order? Well, I haven't even opened the box yet! How am I supposed to sleep at night if I don't have my personal affairs in order? This project will get started this month and I will start carving out some time on Sunday or in the evening to get this completed. My goal is to come back to you in the May newsletter and let you know that I am sleeping better at night! It's all about accountability for me. Let's go April! | <!--

| | My mental health has taken a hit lately and I have found it hard to function some days. I also find myself procrastinating on completing tasks - especially the difficult, non fun ones. What I have learned is that when I am feeling this way, I need to take a step back from everything and give myself a "me day". This is a day where if I want to spend a lot of time diamond painting, watching tv or just vegging out, I will do it and I won't feel guilty about it. What this does for me is to reset and come back 110% the next day. I get so much done after I have a me day and it is completely worth it! Taking time for yourself should never make you feel guilty! |
| | Have you heard about using beef tallow for your skin? Specifically on your face? I love using the whipped organic beef tallow moisturizer on my skin every morning as part of my routine. My skin has never looked as good as it does right now! so soft and hydrated. The benefits of using beef tallow include: hydration/moisture retention, soothe irritated skin, reduce redness, antioxidant protection while being gentle on the skin. If you have not checked out beef tallow yet, I highly recommend it! |
| | Oh this is a big one...setting boundaries. Since I have read the Let Them Theory, I have been practicing setting boundaries with people. I am a people pleaser and this is incredibly hard for me. I want people to like me and when I feel someone is upset with me, I blame myself and try to figure out what I did wrong. I have been walked on a lot! By setting boundaries I am figuring out what I am ok with and what I am not. I am learning how to say "let them" but I also have to say "let me". I have to create a life where I stop giving my power away and create a life where I come first (and I am not talking about being the center of the universe). I am talking about not allowing people to walk all over me and if they want to talk badly about me to others, then let them. |
| | | | The girls and I just went to Las Vegas for market to shop for Swank Boutique. We saw the trends coming for Spring/Summer and I am obsessed with what I saw! Stripes and fruit are two trends that I saw a lot of. They are in dresses and skirts, sometimes by themselves or combined. My favorite look is a striped dress with a fruit necklace (think lemons, cherries and strawberries) to top off the look. Reminds me of Italy and specifically of the season White Lotus was filmed there! So good! |
| | This month has me thinking about Irish coffee and while I am not really a fan of it, I am a fan of espresso martinis! I love the craze of this cocktail and I am seeing it pop up on menus everywhere! I love to make espresso martinis and have the perfect (and easy) recipe for you! Combine one shot of vodka, one shot of Kahlua and two shots of cold brew in a shaker with ice. Shake until well combined and pour into a chilled glass. You can also top with whipped cream and some espresso beans! |
